We’ve purchased more than 100 defibrillators since 2014 via our partners at the Royal Life Saving Society of NSW.

Royal Life manage the delivery of devices to clubs and training on use and storage.

We supply the Laerdal HeartStart First Aid defibrillators to clubs, chosen for its ease of use during what is an incredibly stressful experience. The device talks operators through the process of first aid and defibrillation step-by-step. This device was designed to ensure that even those with no medical training can feel confident to use it when attempting to revive someone.

One of these devices has been used to save a life. Ian Rae, 64, was playing for West Pymble when he collapsed on the field in April 2018. Thankfully a doctor playing for the opposition immediately realised what was going on and called for a defibrillator. The device was quickly rolled out and Ian was revived. Two cardiologists confirmed that Ian would not have survived had the defibrillator not been available.
